You don't need to install "KeyReq" to test it. Double-click it's icon and
press return. KeyReq can be breaked by sending a CONTROL C to it's process
or by starting it a second time. If you want to set some of KeyReq's options
(read "KeyReq.guide" first!!) double-click on the icon, add the arguments to
the string gadget in the Execute command window and press return. Instead of
adding the arguments to the string gadget you can also add " ?" and press
return. This will make an output window appear, where the argument template
will be printed and where the program will be waiting for you to enter the
arguments.
Some notes about the installation
=================================
o The installation script is in English, Italian and German. If the right
language isn't used automatically you have to set the tooltype LANGUAGE:
LANGUAGE=deutsch
LANGUAGE=italiano
LANGUAGE=english
o It's possible to configure KeyReq from inside the installation script
o The installation scripts let's you choose whether you want KeyReq to be
started from Startup-Sequence or User-Startup. If you don't have any
programs in your startup-sequence which replace or improve requesters
then you can try starting it from the User-Startup (at the very top of
it!), otherwise you probably have to start it from the Startup-Sequence.
o If you are using PatchControl (part of MCP) or a similar program you
will probably have to tell this program to install KeyReq's patches
first. In the case of PatchControl this can be done by adding KeyReq's
task name to the PatchControl start line:
C:PatchControl <KeyReq-Path>
For example:
C:PatchControl Boot:c/KeyReq
o KeyReq replaces CyReq (from PowerWindows archive). It isn't needed anymore
if (and only if!) KeyReq is started during boot.
o If you are using StackAttack you can start KeyReq before. KeyReq doesn't
need a lot of stack. It's patches might do, but they use the stack of
the program opening the requester.
o If you are not using StackAttack and your machine GURUs every once and
then (without real "motivation") try installing StackAttack. It can be
found on Aminet: util/boot/StackAttack.lha
The installation script uses a new program of mine: "FileAttack". With
this program one can select at which position to insert one text file into
another file. FileAttack has an incredible nice GUI and is very easy to
use.
The program is not completely finished and has a hidden feature. You can
mark lines to be deleted (to exclude them from saving) by using CONTROL +
LEFT MOUSEBUTTON. The line(s) you mark will change color.
VERY IMPORTANT:
===============
You are not allowed to include this program in your programs/archives!!!
